Reporters are hilarious, do part of the report from behind the gate, pause in mid sentence, then an extreme close-up of the most dramatic and extreme gate opening the world has seen.. and pick up where you left off...

Part of the game...breaking up a double play is risky business with overzealous 40 yr. olds acting like it's the world series, and out to prove a point. In my league last season, some musclebound juicer charged full speed into some skinny accounting dude unknowingly blocking home plate, and he ended up with a caved in chest, bleeding from his ears/back of his head...massive trauma, and the runner was charged with assault...again, part of the game, but gotta watch yourself. You playing again?

i feel really bad for this guy. But i'm glad that God was watching over him and got the man to where he is today. i hope that everything is going well with him and that he is doing the things that he is enjoys. i had a softball injury a year ago. i was in practice and i wanted to sit down and my right foot slipped and my cleat stuck to the sand and my right knee twisted and the doctors said that if i would of twisted another quater of a inch i would of been in surgery.
I hope all goes well.

wow I got hit in the nose and it wasn't very serious. The doctors called it a "non displaced nose fracture". I was fielding so I had no protection. I was very lucky but an adult hit and it was going rather fast but I was lucky it was bouncing. It made a bad hop so that's how it hit me. I hope for your full recovery
I feel so sorry for this man. I sustained a catastrophic leg injury playing flag football back in college. To this very day I am very cautious about just "playing around" as a simple pickup game can get really serious in a split second. I hope this man fully recovers and is able to maintain good financial standing.

Thanks for your comments.
It's been 5 months, and I've almost completely recovered. The nose is a bit shorter, but I'm alive and back to normal. Fundraising raised about $6500, and the hospitals have been very flexible in working with me. I've been quite blessed throughout the experience.
Thanks again for your well wishes.
