Actually a HUGE part of the problem is that firefighters STILL do not have radios which allow them to communicate easily with police and other agencies. This continues dispite a federal mandate. This was a big part of the problem on 9/11. NYPD knew the buildings were beginning to look unstable. They tried but were unable to communicate this issue to FDNY inside the building. Australia knows. We will always remember our brothers and sisters. Knowledge is strength.
Points well taken but you can't relate that kind of "common sense" justification to an incident like the FDNY faced on 9-11. It just doesn't work. This was the worst case scenario that every Department dreads, from SO many different angles in terms of what FDNY faced. I guess for them to survive that day they should have just not answered the call! Departments all over the USA will continue to honor the FDNY and this day because they all know the SAME THING could have happened to them!

Great video, "why is it that a firefighter runs into a burning building when all others run out". We will never forget
