This video illustrates the process of the Mag-Lev Train Project. This project is part of Mr. Krasselt's E-Tech class at St. Anthony Middle School in St. Anthony, MN. Students design, fabricate, and test their own individual trains.

  • Projectors, laptops, design programs, soldering irons, glue guns, motors, electric drills...How the heck can your school afford all that!?

  • @th3gtr We received a generous grant in the amount of $55K from the Kern Foundation. However, you really only need foam, cheap motors, cheap wires, a $100 power supply (or just have each student bring in a 9V battery) and a magnetic track.

I built a prototype of this project when I was in college for dirt cheap. We have a store in MN called Ax Man which sells surplus electrical hobby supplies for cheap.

  • I did this without the motors with 7th graders an we just used a slanted track. It worded great!

  • @hydrogen81 Making it xD lol jking just get a ruler and a pen, do it on paper first and then do it as a 3d model. Remember to put the attracting and contracting magnets in their correct places, but first you should research more about that.
