@Johnlindsey289 Yes, considering the machine that graphically sucks the life out of big-eyed Muppets. On the flip side, Labyrinth has a fart scene, and doesn't take itself as seriously.

Indeed, 1982 was a big year was neat, i grew up with those movies.in the 80s such as this movie, ST 2, Tron, Poltergeist, ET, and NIMH with Last Unicorn as a kid and with The Thing, Blade Runner and Beastmaster as a teen, don't forget there was Creepshow as well.

I kinda see why May and Kira are better than Jen and Ash
Cause for May, she evovles her pokemon and wanted to be a pokemon coordinator
For Kira, she knows how to survive, she calls out animals and has wings.

The Dark Crystal, Star Trek 2, Tron, Poltergeist, John Carptenter's The Thing, E.T., Blade Runner, The Secret of NIMH, The Last Unicorn, Beastmaster... 1982 was a kick-ass year for sci-fi and fantasy, don't you think?

I still think Labyrinth was better...but I guess if you like scarier movies, this one's for you. The visuals were epic.

@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, i guess Kira is kind of cute. For a muppet, anyway. lol. She's doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Taarna, Amalthea or Teegra though.

I was only 1 when this came out in theaters but my 2 big brothers saw this in theaters at a drive-in, but i saw it on video and left an impression on me. Do you think Kira is cute? she has that hot voice too and i had a thing for pale blondes since then. And just because the Skecksis are a different kind of vampire doesn't mean they sparkle, lol. I think this movie is the Avatar of the early 80's and James Cameron praised this movie as a work of art.
