This is an absolute awesome film - when Steve McQueens character eats the piece of paper that ould have betrayed his friend to me has to be on of cinemas most cinematic moments - a film told in a few secs. wow

Just goes to show you that some people just won't be broken, no matter what. The human spirit is very powerful. Props to McQueen and Hoffman- very well done.

I've been watching for Papillon over and over and over again... And it's truly a masterpiece in it's genre. I strongly recommend to watch this if you're about in prison escape films... It's slow going, but it's absolutely GREAT!
