ha yea i hear ya man. Ive been there before, and after playing a lot of Dave songs for a while it seems to be helping me improve on my own stuff. Time and practice, that's it. The way I look at it, music is whatever you want it to be, play whatever you think sounds good even if you dont know the note or chord it is. Kepp up the good work. I wish I could post some of my covers up : )

first time i've ever said this for a cover, damn nice, man. Put that skill to your own use with some of your own words and shop it. I'm a wordsmith with no band anymore. Mold, rust and the general decline of lust for life gets us all, hit the gas!

I'd love to write my own stuff...but I know nothing about music really. I can listen to a song and look at some tablature but unless they're basic chords I don't even know what chords/notes I'm playing. I know I don't necessarily need to know to write my own stuff, but I have a hard time figuring out how to piece together verse, chorus, bridge, etc. with the guitar cuz I don't know what'll sound good with the little lick I just accidentally came up with, ya know?

I love this style, there's a ton of songs where dave never stops strumming, he is always moving that rigt hand, very cool dude, make a cd!!!!! get with some other musicans, I'd kill to play with someone like you, you have a real blues thing going for you, I sing and play guitar, but I would love to play bass for you and do some real blues stuff, and some of the dave covers you do have a real blues feel too. GREAT JOB
