@chrisdryer . . .Sidenote: that's what war is, it's the transfer of money from the masses to a concentrated group of people. Look at Halliburton, a huge transport truck would get a flat tire and they would blow it up so they could buy a new one because they were paid at cost + 50%. $100 toilet seats and $1000 hammers. Don't think along the lines of the army spends frivolously, because overspending IS the point IS the goal. They can always take more and we can't say 'NO you can't tax me more.'

@chrisdryer Its that way with all government agencies! If you don't use all of your allocated funding you lose it next year, so at the end of the fiscal year people are running around just trying to spend the left over money. I know an engineer that worked on government projects and he was ordered to buy 100,000 dollars of equipment just to throw it in the trash. I know a guy that worked on a submarine and he was telling me stuff like they would buy new complete workroom tool sets every year.
