For an artist, sometimes the best way to measure the quality of one's work is to view it years of time and experience later, and to see how well one's work stands in our own estimation. That said, my second attept at music video editing and directing, I usually refer to this video as my first "real" Anime Music Video. I sometimes think about the difference DVD quality video and CD quality music makes. Case in point, my first AMV was cut from whatever bootleg fansubbed video I could find online. Needless to say, this video is by far my favorite of the two. As I reflect on the video itself, my eye is drawn to the opening idea of contant fade-to/fade-from black: a technique I used to draw a feeling more of a dreamlike series of images before a movie style music video. Add to that the subtle cross fade to add a sort of wraith-like quality to some of D's movements. And finally, I would ask you to note the subtle (or not so subtle) use of some of the film's own sound effects. I have been thinking about going through this video and doing a little 4 year later cleanup. of the things I would change to lend a more polished look to it, when some of the scenes were cut too close, 2 or 3 frames of the film would blink through. I feel because of how they cut so abruptly at certain points, it makes the video as a whole seems a bit chopped and hastily done. aside from that, one scene as a whole seems to bother me. If i were to redo this video, i would replace scene with D and the woman in white. i feel as though it draws away from the theme of the video; derails it, almost. In my estimation as the author, editor, director, and (i think) critic, it is my opinion that aside from a few minor editing flaws, and an ending that was too abrupt, this was, when I made it, and still is, a fine video.

That makes the whole video somehow replace the "anti-mother" explaining her child(ren) how to behave.
It is one of the most artistic songs i know, every little facet is just perfect.
Some of their other songs are also great, but this one is unique :)
Song tips:
Knorkator - Buchstabe
Knorkator - Für meine Fans
Knorkator - Alter Mann
All these songs are quite nice, even without understanding the text, but great with text understanding ;)

Piss on stranger's toilets without sitting,
then not flush and not close the toilet lid.
Evil, so god damn evil!
Evil, terrifyingly evil!
----------------------------------------
I know, a rather bad translation.
But it should make most people understand what they are singing about.
Knorkator is a fun-metalband and most of their songs are in some way like sung jokes or parodies.
btw: The german lyrics rhyme very well and sound coloquially correct.

Babble in between conversations,
eat bogeys, chew fingernails!
Evil, i am so evil! 2x
Evil, so god damn evil!
Evil, terrifyingly evil!
In future i will bind my shoes only with knots,
my hands always in my pockets and after brushing teeth i will secretly eat sweets on the sly!
Take 3 bits of an apple,
and then throw the rest away!

Check out lyrics pages, you will sure find a translation - Songname: "Böse" by "Knorkator".
I will roughly translate it for you, though my English ain't too good:
I am in a dark sect, that made me realize that our short existence is more fun if you are evil.
Yet i was well risen, never stole or lied, but in future i will try to totally devote myself to evil.
Evil, i am so evil.
Evil, i am so evil.
I want to cross the street against red light, especially when small children watch it.
