Wreath laying on the WWII island fortress of Corregidor, scene of a devastating defeat of American and Filipino forces at the beginning of the war, and the recapture of the island, at the mouth of Manila Bay, in February, 1945. When MacArthur fled the isalnd, he vowed famously to return and he did that in early March, 1945. Steve Kwiecinski, son of a Corregidor survivor and subsequent POW, recounts his father's ordeal, followed by the presentation of a 48 star American flag to the Corregidor Foundation by Jim Zobel, Curator of the MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk, VA
