He wasn't just talking about that particular party, he was using it to explain large-social situations in general. Its much more complicated than you understand it to be.

So many people spend their lives pretending to enjoy themselves. Many are uncomfortable at those parties, but are trying to "fit in." I do see your point.

cont...Now I know that I can be myself and fit in just find as someone with Aspergers and I don't have to pretend anymore. I mean if you want to pretend, feel free but I'm sick of it. It was taking my soul away. I'm not sure what your position is either way. I can honestly say that parties are uncomforatable for me and even if I pretend to I will never really enjoy them. Yes, for me that is difinitive. I may get better at parties but it will always be uncomforatable and unatural feeling for me.
