I wish that All-Star Superman was supposed to be a satire. I know that some things can be bent in the wacky world of comic books, but that book just made me wanna say...

Don't feel bad about the Michael Bay comparison; it's COMPLETELY true. I could go on for DAYS about how botched the characterizations of the Transformers were, similar to how Batman & Robin were.

@jadekite22 People were drawn to it because of the name. ASB&R showed such promise in it's first issue, only for it to be derailed dramtically from the second onwards. As for quality, it's all the same. The man has nothing new to say, there is difference from his work on Sin City to his more recent works at DC or on film. The guy lost his talent. The whole point of Daredevil: Born Again or The Man Without Fear or Batman: Year One was the inherent humanity that these characters have.

I honestly don't think Frank Miller is concerned about what is or isn't going to fly. His career has been threatened by the controversy of his titles for years, but he always comes out of the gate on top because the quality of his work and the substance of it far surpassed the controversy (well, maybe not All-Star, but he obviously did something right since the book does have an audience.)

I see your point but at times it is censsary if the racism, sexism, or prejudice used in the opinion for the solo purpose to offend someone or in this case, satisfie a group of people who hates another group.

you are have good point but i love it
PS it's a satire
I guess I agree with what you were saying about All Star, though you didn't really address the argument. However, your statement about HTB! not being appropriate for today's society is stupid. Yes, the book's idea may be immature, but so is the subject Miller is satirizing. Political correctness is one step awayfrom the ridiculous censorship laws they practice in governments like Iraq's.

Okay I shouldn't have used that agrument but generally what I was trying to say was that times have changed. People aren't as prejudice as they were back then and something like Holy Terror Batman isn't going to fly.
