  • This is one of the best episodes of Little House. Part one is like an episode of Bonanza, and Part two is like Highway to Heaven.

  • i entirely agree. michael landon had originally written these two episodes for bonanza but adapted them to little house. as an actor, working with michael was a dream. he and his entire operation was incredible!

this was my first great guest roll on tv. michael, a true renaissance man, mentored me, he was the best!

  • *looks @stinkfootzep with wistful sadness* would we go back to those days?

  • I have to add that both despite the efforts of the remaining actors, both shows were not the same after their main stars left the show.

  • After that the show was renamed "Mayberry R.F.D." Only Aunt Bee stayed behind in Andy's house as a housekeeper to Ken Berry and his son, the new owners. Just like on "Little House A New Beginning" where a lot of the Walnut Grove townspeople played more of a role in the show, the Mayberry townspeople were more prominently featured on "Mayberry R.F.D."

  • Thanks for replying Chris! I want to also say that you also did a great job on this episode of Little House. Ironically, these were the last two episodes aired under the title "Little House On The Prairie". The show was renamed "Little House A New Beginning" after that. That was when Mike and the Ingalls family (except Laura and Almanzo) left the series. It reminded me of "The Andy Griffith Show". At the end of the 8th season of that show, Andy, Opie and Helen left the show. Continued....
