Paul Simon is 69 years old, and sounds like he just passed 18 years

Figures the older artists make the good music even today. Great song. I thought this was an older song from the seventies. Heard it on Imus in the morning. Fun vid too.

I dunno, apples and oranges. I personally much prefer his Graceland-on style, though I love his earier work too.

    Different strokes for different folks

Oddly enough it was an English teacher at school who introduced me to Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and Leonard Cohen when we were asked to write an essay in which we told to compare and contrast Dylan's "Love Minus Zero / No Limit" Simon's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and Cohen's "Suzanne". I've been grateful to him ever since.

Not sure about Graceland but would say that certainly Rhythm of the Saints was more rhythmic than any previous albums. I do love "Boy in the Bubble" and "The Obvious Child" but I'm afraid I don't find his more recent work as interesting as his earlier songs. Melodically he was up there alongside Lennon and McCartney and Brian Wilson and lyrically had songs crafted as good as and as thought provoking as some of Bob Dylan's.

He is? His album "You're the One" makes constant mention of reincarnation, so I thought he was Buddhist or something.

Well, ever since Graceland and Rhythm of the Saints he's focused more on rhythm than melody, and his lyrics have taken an almost free-verse quality, which leads to his now-signature rambling singing. Boy in the Bubble is a great example of that, actually, and he's made better songs than this in recent years for sure.
