Mormonism rather than being Christocentric is church-egocentric. It is twistology of theology, sedition of addition, and infusion of confusion, very radically unlike the purity, simplicity and power of devotion to Christ so gloriously lived and ministered by the church of the first century.

Many Mormons remain in the LDS church due to their unwillingness to conjure the courage to research their church's history outside sanitized, revisionist sources that are the work of deliberate deception.

Paul Richards, who left BYU in 1992 as BYU spokesman... 'I worked in public affairs for the church for 13 years, and I had to lie all the time...'(The Arizona Republic Oct. 10, 1993, quoted in Issue 85 (Nov. 1993) of the Salt Lake Messenger)

Ken Clark, a former LDS CES Institute Director for 27 years, illustrates how the Mormon Church utilizes deceptions and outright lies to maintain control over members and potential converts to Mormonism. Watch the 10 part series "Lying for the Lord" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRzHUMyukCM

Love Mormons; abhor Mormonism. Earnestly contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints according to Jude 3. Exult in and exalt Christ alone. Speak the Truth in love. Detest the damnable heresies of devils' doctrines that are the ongoing work of seducing, lying spirits of deception and error, emmisaried to divert, mormonize and bastardize Bible belief.

"If you want to boast, take pride in the things that make you weak, for when you are weak, you are strong - in Him. Be afraid of the praise and acceptance of others, for they are the fertilizer for the self-important and grandiose thoughts that are yours by nature anyway, which spring up in the shallow ground of your carnal mind. Carry about the Death of the Lord so you may have the Life of the Lord. Be ready to suffer with Him, that you may reign with Him." Chip Brogden

  • This is so bazzar. When you give a birthday gift to someone, you do it because you celebrate their birth. Do you give a birthday gift because that person gave himself birth? Thats foolish. If I give a birthday gift to someone and tell them that they then have to be "worthy" or good enough (conditional) to get it or keep it or I will take it away...this is not a gift.

  • Mormons are brain-washed. They believe in the lies of a man/men like Joseph Smith and that Brigham Young .

  • @MoliterManus IA it is more an issue of semantics

"If you're not careful with a clear understanding of the bible you could get sucked into the religion yourself" Interesting.

While many members of the mormon church have put to much focus on works the doctrine does not teach that we can work our way to heaven or be saved by our works.

  • @MoliterManus

1 John 12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

  • @MoliterManus What is salvation as you perceive Mormons believe salvation is?

James is speaking specifically of that faith which is saving faith. He contrasts that faith with faith that even demons have which obviously is not saving faith. Saving faith is living with a worshipful heart of loving obedience in cooperation with the operation of the indwelling Spirit of grace. It is a lifelong process of sanctification.

  • @Shulamitefire Mormon doctrine is the same, sounds like semantics to me. Both Mormons and mainstream Christians believe salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. Mormons believe faith is the first step and that if you stop at saying you believe, then you fall into the same category James is speaking about. I've heard the same sermon in "Christian" congregations. If you say you believe in Christ, but nothing in your life reflects the Good News - then your faith is dead.

  • @mormonchic It is the Monson movement of Moroni that frequently & systematically bears blatant false witness against the blessed & beloved body & bride of Christ. Christians fully intend to defend the church of Christ against all cults of counterfeit & lead their captives & whosoever will into the liberty & splendor of Jesus Christ. As long as belief in any church is deemed as authoritative as the Lord Jesus Christ, such a person is seriously impaired in ability to discern the Spirit of Truth.

  • "You don't get something for nothing.."

    ***Yes you do!!!***

" But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us..."

Wait, why do I never hear that from Mormons?

In fact, why do I only hear a few select passages from Mormons?!

    What are they afraid of??

  • @kiwichristian2009 The Book of Mormon contains nothing of significance. Even the Smithsonian has produced an official statement declaring that it holds no historical merit.

Mormonism is a cult. Joseph Smith was a liar, a deceiver and a criminal.

  • If the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel, why doesn’t it teach that God was once a man?
