Grauchen ("sweet little gray one") was born in the back of my bed in 1993; she stayed tiny and infantile her whole life, was annoying in her paranoia but radiating with pure joy at every gesture of attachment. she died in my arms yesterday. i will miss her very much.

be warned about the last couple of sentences in the following!

she was diagnosed with a defect of the liver about four weeks ago, after she had lost almost every weight very fast and refused to eat, then grew too weak to even drink properly (although she tried very hard. pills and infusions had no more than temporary effect).
we had to call the vet, after parts of her skin started to slip off her at the lightest pull (i'm sorry if that's as horrible for you to read as it was shocking to me), both because and even though she didn't seem to feel much of it anymore.

I've just helped a friend and digged a grave in the backward for is 18 years old decese cat.Under the Morning Glory and beside the Lilac tree. They are amazing being. I understand your sadness and your wanting to share the love you had for one another. Salut.

tja, irgendwann musste es halt passieren... wenigstens war ich dabei (bin auf der wohnungssuche bei meiner mutter gelandet :/ ).

die andere katze ist zwei wochen später auch gestorben, sie war grauchens mutter - ein jahr älter.

jetzt ist noch ein junger kater übrig, der gar nicht verstehen kann warum er plötzlich dauernd angefasst wird :)

thank you very much! i hope you're right about the happiness... i hope i wasn't causing her to suffer longer by selfishly strengthening her emotional bond to the world... thats what my hippie-buddhist-mother thinks. i hope it's just rationalized jealousy...

so siehts aus. wir haben eine schnellstraße direkt neben dem haus, ein wunder dass keine unserer katzen auf die art ums leben gekommen ist.

und bis auf grauchen sind sie alle kugelrund :)

1993 - sie war eine alte katzendame. die einzige katze meiner familie, die eines natürlichen todes starb, war ebenso alt - und am ende leider auch sehr krank. sie erbrach sich ständig und war elend schwach. ihre nachfolgerinnen und nachfolger wurden leider von autos dahingerafft, dann hatten wir über jahre gar keine katze mehr. seit einiger zeit nun lebt mopsi, auch bekannt als anna amalia von poesje bei meinen eltern, sie ist zugelaufen und kugelrund.

i'm fine, thanks to our other cats and the fact that she fell asleep almost instantaniously. the vet said it usually takes about 30 minutes.

i learned a lot about patience and trust in these last days, and i am confident that the two of you will have the same experience!
