This is just a video showcasing 3 systems on the same screen, without having to hard-switch between every console (i.e. plugging out the cable of the ps3, then plugging in the cables of the xbox360).

The monitor is an Acer H243H 1080p full HD.

I used three different audio outputs so I could switch dynamically between the three systems. For both my pc and the ps3 I used two 2.1 speaker sets (check my other vid on how to use the ps3 with pc speakers) and for the Xbox360 I used the monitor's speakers.

PS3 is plugged into the DVI slot, with an HDMI to DVI cable.
Xbox360 is plugged into the HDMI slot, with an ethernet cable going to my pc, which has a bridged connection between ethernet and my router. (Basically enabling Xbox live without buying a wireless network adapter)
PC is plugged in via VGA, with a DVI to VGA adapter. (There is almost no difference between VGA and DVI, trust me, I checked)

I work at an electronics store where I get a 25% discount, so I'm not crazy or super rich or anything.

  • Weren't those adapters kinda expensive? Why not use DVI with PC, HDMI with PS3 and VGA with Xbox?

  • @matt56037 Because then I wouldn't have any sound coming from my xbox, since the sound comes out of the speakers in my screen, which need an hdmi input.

  • does the acer screen have an audio output slot or a headphone jack

  • No.

  • Which electronic store did you work??

  • Mediamarkt.

  • @Jsinification666 I'm using the normal monitor cable for the tower, but the HDMI for the PS3. Two cables attached to the single tower.

  • I don't have HDMI on my monitor, and I'm not buying an adapter. I do, however, have a HDMI input of the tower itself. How do I get to the PS3 display through the tower on my monitor?

  • @RenBB Does this moniter have a inbuilt speakers????

  • @matt56037 no i got a hdmi to dvi adapter for $3 on amazon cheap as fuck

  • I hooked my 360 up via HDMI and have no sound, is there a setting I need to change?

  • is there any way to output it because im trying to get my 360 to go through my surround sound with hdmi but i cant figure it out cause theres only an input no output and its aggravates me i shouldve thought twice before buying this monitor

  • How to you setup your monitor like that?

  • @seantal007 MY VGA input only has a screen by it. No in or out about it.
