1. Its is pronounced saber like as in a sword, sabre. but i wont fault you.

2. rare put on viva pinata shortly after this game was in production, so i assume donkey kong racing evolved into sabreman and as it was changed elements of sabreman were introduced into viva pinata....just a guess
