  • I hope you mean a new 335; I have a '67 Gibson ES-345 and I can guarantee you this doesn't blow it out of anything (!).....but hopefully, you already know that. Nice pickin' btw. I'm contemplating a Carmen Ghia....the real reason I'm here. What are your impressions of it? Would a nice overdrive send it into classic rock territory? Thanks in advance.....

  • Glad you enjoy your 345... and yes, a CG would do very nice in a classic rock format.

  • how does it compare to the Gibson ES-335?

  • It blows them out of the water. No kidding.

  • The I-35 is a very nice axe. It does not, however, blow my 1985 ES 335 Dot out of any water any where anytime thank you very much.

  • I am glad you love your guitar. Good for you! :)

  • @berncj Have you ever even played a Collings I-35 D?

  • I own a New Blond Flame Collings SoCo Deluxe! Gibson, eat your Hearts Out Man!

This is the 1st guitar I ever touched that was flawless...completely! No Shit! Check out that Alder Sound Block in the Body!

Gibson is a Known Name but there guitars don't stand up to Collings Workmanship and materials...mostly the workmanship end of things for sure...

  • Nice guitar! what kind of frets? medium jumbo stainless...?

    Thanks Stef

  • Anyone who hasn't played a Collings I-35 can't say they their 335's are better. Each Collings is Top Notch and FLAW FREE, compared to the production line 335's of today. I've looked at, and played so many 335's, 336's, 339's (as well as others), wanting to love just one, for so long, that I've given up the idea. I own, or have owned LP's, SG's, and other Gibbys, but the hollow body line is a sheer disapointment IMHO,

  • @Johnnieboynz

Hi,keep that Ibanez for gigs and jams,no offense. The I-35 is awsome and worth keeping

in good condition. The scale is shorter than the strat's and very very close to 335.

Check Collings website and the i-35's review articles!

  • dream gear man! I want that guitar so bad... great demos by the way, thanks

  • Looks and sounds like a 335 to equal or top my early 80's Ibanez AS200. Am always on the lookout in case mine gets stolen or trashed!

That top and sunburst is just amazing. Is the scale length a traditional 335 or is it more fenderish? Thanks.

  • Are there any difference between the Collings I-35 Standard and the Collings I-3 Deluxe tonewise?

  • Colling's, Fantastic Guitars! I'm buying a New TV Yellow 290. I'm Austonian, A Top Luthier's scuttle butt says Gibson is building some real trash these days. Gibson Buyers that returned New Guitars said the quality was "Piss Poor" Remember guys...the Name doesn't make the INSTRUMENT... (people, material, & machines do!) Word has it that the quality of the Colling's is 3x that of Gibson! I believe it, totally! I was one of the folks that bought a New Gibson and returned it, Shitty Frets..
