  • Hey guys I have a question. I am 12 years old and I have shot a .41 magnum with no problem. I am preparing to fire the 44 mag. I am a little worried though. How is the recoil compared to the 44 mag? Thanks.

  • @BugattiVeyronBoy I've never fired a .44 mag, I could not speculate. Please check with check with some one who knows more than me. They won't be hard to find. Though I was an M60 Machine Gunner in the Marines. That think would kick - and jam. Wow 12 years old and firing weapons like this. What do you want to be when you join the Corps?

  • Can you fire anything else through a .41 mag the way you can with a .38spec and a .357mag, like .41 long colt or .41 short? I just bought a S&W 657 in .41 magnum.

  • I don't know. The .41 rounds are kind of hard to get so I'm thinking I might have heard of something else. I just checked out the S&W 657. I like that a real lot. Last week at a range I fired a few rounds through a Springfield XD M 9mm. Real smooth hardly any kick. The 657 looks like a nice cannon to fire. That's the kind of artillery you want between you and some wack job with a gun and a grudge.

  • @Ricklawrence you know smothing, I saw a 41 magnum yesterday at my local gunstore and they told me the same thing, that the ammo is hard to get, this seem like a nice weapon to have which I want, but don't know if it's worth buying or not, what are your thoughts.

  • @Mr291229 I'd buy another .41. Yes the ammo is tough to find, but that's for target practice. You should see what I carry in that thing. You do not need a lot of ammo. I carry an extra 12 rounds with me. My wife has a 9mm S&W with a 4 1/2" barrel I do not trust it if I had to shoot fast over 15 - 20 feet. The 41, I know I'm going to hit him with a 61/2" barrel. You won't be sorry if you get it. Really the hardest thing about the gun is concealing it.

  • My grandfather use to say to me that if the day ever came in America where only the police the military and the criminal have firearms. The Law abiding America citizen will be in deep shit! America as we know it will no longer exsist

  • I second that.

  • @Ricklawrence Thanks man. Sounds like a cool job. I am a good fan of guns and I have also fired 9mm luger and .308. My mom says i am a good "pistol shot" haha. thanks

  • @Mr291229

I just bought one and they are good. less recoil than 44 mag and just a little more expensive on ammo. reload your own

  • @Ricklawrence Many of the "Heavy Magnum Loads" in .357, .44 .41 and even the .22 magnum in a revolver will Reach out very far and take game with "well placed shots" and precluded followups. The .41 take out a bear LOL surely ANY Bear, ANY DAY, There are only hundreds of an inch difference between the 41 and 44. Also The .41 , the .357 and the 44 magnum ALL are very effective for Large predators and Hunting with Correct AMMO, MARKSMANSHIP and SKILL

  • With all due respect Mr. Lawrence, I believe (depending on the size of course) that a bear could be stopped by a .41 with the right load. It wouldn't be my first choice however! I just got a Taurus M415 and while it may not take down a bear, it sure will take down the poor SOB who may want to kill me. Semper Fi

  • Awesome muzzle control. I have a .44 mag anniversary Blackhawk and it kicks hard. I use my left thumb to cock it faster. This way also keeps my sights on target and my grip constant.
