  • So what's the *net* power output? (Even scaled up?) Solar cells are falling in cost. What's the point in tracking other than just as an interesting hobby? You can build a better mousetrap, but if the economic are not there, the world will never see it.

  • @humexavier Good thought but you would only use a portion of the cells. Once they become less expensive where you could have some of them not being used, your idea would be great. Keep thinking outside the box.

  • nice, you can shot down a penlight with it. so how is that going to track the sun? LOL

does it work?i loved the inginuity behind it you could make a fortune selling army toys.

  • Pay no attention to the mechanism behind the disk! Wow it works! How?

  • trucking made compicated :) we need simple trucking ,dependeble only on sun and not on computer camera.... please check my setup

  • Sphere used on cars or nasa shuttle.Using up energy to move the dishes all day to get the right angle focus on a car Half the energy is used trying to move all the dishes all the time. Solar panels on say a truck more aero dynamic for traveling(compared to dish).Nasa space telescopes that have sphere shaped panels because to much energy to move a dish in space. Plus a dish must recharge its battery for dish motion.Battery last 10 years.Sphere no matter what turn or angle of sun no motions needed

  • they are trying to concentrate light from a wide area onto a single point, to increase

    the heat

  • Great Idea but why does everybody use a dish shape to track sun.Why not use a globe shape solar collector. Dishes always need to move but a ball shaped solar collecting, can get all angles on its panels.

  • good idea useing camera :) good work :)

  • Great device can it run on solar power?
