Perhaps if Senator Tom Davis of South Carolina cut bigger eye holes in his pointy white hat he would not be walking in to those burning crosses so often and setting the sheet he was wearing on fire ? All in all, wouldn't the good Senator be more happy with Obama's Dixiecrats than in the GOP ?

@ccummings4012 How do you know how hard any given white family had to fight for what they have? You don't. I do know that there are policies, such as affirmative action, that are in place with the explicit intent (and result) of ensuring the exact opposite, however.

@WesSeid No, reparations are certainly not the answer. The answer would be social reforms. Just throwing reparations at poor families would only be a bandaid, not a solution. This is of course, easier said than done. It starts at home and at school. Something needs to be done there.
I never endorse racism, and trust me when a black person says something racist, we shudder in embarassment. I do, but when i see how many racists come out on the anonimity of the internet, it worries me.

@ccummings4012 So reparations are the answer? If so, cool. What's the number? $1000 per person? $10,000? $100,000? And then hiring quotas and all that can be ended and no one can ever say again how things are unfair, correct?
If not, then what? Just keep fighting past racism with more racism and treating people differently based on skin color? How about that Congressional Black Caucus? "It's not racism when we do it!"

@WesSeid you seem to fail to understand, that black families have had to fight for everything they had. The emancipation proclemation was a major step. But think what blacks had immediately after the declaration. I hail from an upstanding black family, and will tell you, we have had to fight a lot harder for what we had, then for what white people had. We didnt have the same chance then, and many black youths dont get a fair chance now. Just think, unbiased.

@wuspopNmane I didn't realize there were so many black people alive today who had been slaves and thus deserve reparations. Maybe we can get the payments from all the rich slave-owner whites living in trailer parks.
Nah, probably better off getting the money from high-profile people who exploit black people, such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Charles Rangel, Obama... oh wait, they're black too. That's so weird.
Black people are their own worst enemy. Sad but true.

@WesSeid I understand what you're saying but it is easier for a spoiled white guy to say that than a black man/women from the inner city who doesn't have as many oppurtunities availiable to them. YOU DON'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO PUT YOURSELF IN THE NEXT MAN'S SHOES. Black people have giving their blood, swett, and tears to build this country. Sacrificed themselves AND their IDENTITY and have gotten NO CREDIT(reperations). Even asians, mexicans, etc who've been exploited too side with whites LOL!

George Bush did something positive for blacks LOL? WOOOHH. that was a shoker! He put more funding in HIV/AIDS prevention AND COLLEGE TUITION for blacks than ANY PRESIDENT BEFORE HIM? Damn. I'm speechless...
