These are a small collection of my daughters extremely hypermobile spine. She has now been diagnosed with a progressive double Scoliosis with a twist in the mid section. Apart from the visible changes to the spine more can be seen from the front with a large difference in each side of the rib cage but worse, the bottom left hand side is constantly dislocating with the ribs sometimes slipping underneath one another or as in the case of the pictures is jutting out causing a large lump.

  • Hello I have Kyphoscoliosis and Lordosis. Basically that means I have three conditions: Scoliosis, Kyphosis and Lordosis. My scoliosis, like your daughters, is double (has two curves) and has an extreme amount of rotation (the twist). My sister also has scoliosis but not bad. Mine was severe and I had surgery and am still recovering. I am not allowed to bend lift or twist my spine or lift anything above 1kg. If you would like to talk you can message me. Thanks, Nikki x x x

  • Is it funtional scoliosis caused by the hypermobility or structural?

  • i was just diagnosed with scholiosis

  • MY SCOLIOSlS ON THORACIC SPINE IS 30 DEGREEES TO THE LEFT

  • that looks so painful! i'm not gonna lie to you, i CAN'T possibly immagine how painful it's gotta be. i wish her good luck with this. (i'm having trouble finding words here...)

  • I wish your daughter all the best and send her and your family lots of love <3

  • I was born with scoliosis and was told it would never progress. I was also told it was due to poor posture. Now this was quite a while ago but the results of these statements by various doctors really affected my whole life. By age 50 I had a double curve of 48 degree thoracic curve, 78 lumbar curve with a 20 degree rotation and 10 degree kyphosis. I finally had to have surgery on a solid spine. Add EDS and my surgery was a nightmare. But a very good ortho surgeon made all the difference.

  • I was diagnosed with EDS type 3 but I have "S" shaped scoliosis. My back is continuously hurting me and makes walking and standing straight without my cane, very painful. I use a heating pad at the end of the day in order to help me with the rush of pain I feel when I lay down. Have you discovered any other things that helps decrease the pain?
