-
u see what needs 2 happen here. that bus has tooken an arrow to the the knee repair it not retire it

@6V92TA Not all the way true. SEPTA had 491 6V92/ZF powertrains in their Neoplan AN440's 3000-3491. And they were BEASTS! But SEPTA maintenance loved these buses and maintained them very well (last one retired April 2008, first one on the streets in 1986)

all too bloody noisy, esp the air brake systems with no noise abatement on the air blow off. so the saved a measly 500 $ , and we have to listen to the result for the next twenty years..........polluting not only the air but also our ears........

@dyip90 imagine that thing in TTC colours...
-
This bus sounds like 6v92.
-
@redbeast2 not necessarily more fuel efficient. OC transpo Orion 5 uses less gas then the invero's

@gmcbuses I think the reason NYC didn't buy from NFI for 40ft buses was because they were forced or pressured to buy local, which would be Orion. Same story with TTC, i'm sure they would have D60HF if they weren't forced to buy local
How much did Minnesota want at the time?
-
@D4090 That is true, but it was mainly demand. If more wher ordered in 2004, a big order in 2005, a big order made in 2006, 9 times out of 10 they would of still been made. Minnesota Transit also wanted a order in 2006. In 2005 New York City Transit ordered none, and should of seen the handwriting on the wall. From 1997 to 2006 40 footers should of been purchased from New Flyer also 200, along with more purchased from Nova. 200 should of been bought each year to keep them being made past 1999.

@gmcbuses it was actually NFIs fault. They didn't what to make more HF buses. Thats the real reason NYC didn't get any more.
wrong engine on the right bus
