  • Re:Wilhemet, what is less limited than "re - ligio" -- reconnecting with the limitless?

  • on st patricks day in 1992 i stumbled upon none other than yeats' only son. the old sod even pulled out a 20 punt note from the republic with his dad's portrait upon it. when i mentioned joni's interpretation of the second coming he became violent. i guess this poked a very large balloon filled with lots of hot air. joni honors yeats. was the original poem genius? yes. and did this artist interpret the poem with respect? yes. more than just some shallow treatment here.

  • That was s train wreck

  • @wilhemet- I strongly suspect that you are German. There's nothing wrong with this per se but shouldn't it be "wilhelmet" if you aren't familiar with English vernacular you will not understand this "joke". Maakt Nix.

  • Thanks a lot, nice to see this live performance. Though I like more the way it sounds on her album "Night Ride home". Too much bass in this concert.

  • @Wilhemet Huh?

  • I accept that Joni Mitchell is a prolific musician, but I did not enjoy the interpretation at all, the main reason being that Yeats had suggested a 2000 year shift between an objective paradigm to a subjective dimension of thought. Mitchell's interpretation has morphed Yeats' dynamic work into something utterly religious (hence the addition of "judgment", "heaven and hell", etc.), which does not correspond to Yeats' vision that extends far beyond the limited religious realm.

  • Ha, the lead guitarist in The Offspring uses the same make of guitar (Parker, isn't it?) - comes out completely differently

  • She does work that "Neil Young" look.

  • This is the same band and Parker guitar from the 'Woman Of Heart And Mind' 2005 DVD
