Well, just got back home from Preview Night and it looks great if you are a GI Joe fan like myself. The movie figures look great. I got myself two Hollow Ichigo Bleach figures from Toynami. This is Comic-Con's 40th anniversary and this is my 15th consecutive SDCC that I have attended.

The reason I left early was because people were already in line and there was also a Padres day game. I bought lunch at Lolita's, I like their Carne Asada Fries and ate while I was in line. I'm thinking of looking into True Blood if I ever get HBO.

  • I'm going for my honeymoon - I'm from the UK, I've never been to the States before, let alone Comic-Con. Safe to say, I'm pretty excited about this! Any veteran going that wants to hold our hands thru this??

  • @ukdeejay

Thanks for the comment. Did you already pre-registered for both a badge and hotel? Also make sure to bring lots of water since you'll probably be on your feet all the time and it's going to be hot as well. Hope that helps.

  • oh... -_- wait... nevermind... i wrote the other one before i actually saw the whole thing.

  • It's okay, are planning to come out next year?

  • what is comic con actually about? i mean, is it about anime or about everything? because if i were to dress up as someone from Naruto (for those who don't know it it's an anime) would i be really out of place or would it be good to wear? because from these pics it seems like it could be about anything. but i was just asking cuz i know nuthin bout it. -_-

  • It's okay, it's generally what it is, a comic book convention. Over the years, it has grown to become the largest pop culture convention ever.

Of course there is anime and manga present. Even though you dress up as Naruto, there are many other people who dress up as anime characters too. Viz comes down to Comic Con, so you are definitely not alone.

    I hope that helps.

  • were you still able to talk to some of the artists on preview night? or were the tables set without the exibitors??

  • @miyoshi82 Thanks for the reply; yup, I'm preregistered for all four days (inc. Preview Night) and I'm currently tearing thru every forum and post giving me help and hints on how to survive the Con. The recurring themes appear to be 1) Water. Lots and lots of water, 2) a spare pair of socks (because my feet will love me for it by midway thru), and 3) plan the crap out of our visit in advance! Realising that I'm not going to see EVERYTHING, I'm gathering it's best to just get to what I can!

  • @ukdeejay

thats cool...welcome to the USA/San Diego! comic con is fun and crazy at the same time so there is no doubt that you'll have fun.

  • oh shit wtf? you can see me working at 2.00

  • can i get tickets 4 2011

  • I'll be going for the first time this year. Actually it will be my first convention of any kind like this. BUT I will be going with a SDCC veteran and I grew up in Denver and I'm doing my research, so I'll be ok. I'll be CosPlaying as my female version of Link from Twilight Princess. I am SO excited! I bought the four day w/preveiw night the day they came out on the home site.

  • i was hoping on going next year, but i don't think i will. u_u
