Japanese Horse of the Year (2008,2009) and the first filly to win the Japanese Derby in 64 years. She won 7 Group 1's, among them the Japan Cup 2009 in her last race in Japan.

The music is something special, and definitely not everyones taste. Its from one of my favorite soundtracks though

  • Vodka unfortunately suffered a nose bleed in a warm up race prior to the 2010 Dubai World Cup. The horse also bleed while winning the 2009 Japan Cup. Owner, Yuzo Tanimizu, and trainer Katsuhiko Sumii decided protect her with retirement (it was not run in Dubai). Vodka was sent to the Aga Khan's Gilltown stud to be mated to 2009 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sea the Stars. Vodka is in foal so we will be hearing more from this horse in 2011.

  • Wonderful! She's one of my most favorite horses ever. I feel so privileged at being able to see her run in person and win!

  • Oh knew this had to be a filly! Sorry, I'm America, and I don't know Japanese Racing too well, but yea. That sounded a little weird. She reminds of Zenyatta, but it seems clearly she's the better filly here. I would love to see those two in a match race.! USA vs. JAP. How cool would that be?! Haha. Drink 'em up Vodka!
