Amy and Natasha demonstrate a very tough drill that is great for building ab and lat strength for a quick rowing motion in the pole vault. Amy is doing the "hard" version; Natasha the "easy" one.

  • be careful when you do this. Its great to build strength but when you vault you only want to be in the "L" position a fraction of a second before extending upward.

  • Let me guess...you tried it and couldn't do it right? ;)

  • Be aware, it's MUCH harder than Amy makes it look. Don't get discouraged ;)

  • I know this is dumb but I'm going to ask anyway. Is that Amy Chow?

  • Not dumb; in fact nice catch. Yes. It's Amy Chow from the '96 and 2000 US Olympic gymnastics teams.

  • this little girl is sick!

  • steven move your gonna get kicked in the head haha

  • i'm confused, is this hard? I'm a rec gymnast and i can do this, it's on bar, so that might make it easier, or maybe i'm just doing it wrong, but i do go right round and then back to the 'sitting/pike' position and then reppeat. ah well, who knows, this was awesome, as for rings...well, i'll stick to bar for now....

  • Hey Amy looks amazing doing that - she is definitely an awesome gymnast, and I am sure a great pole vaulter too - good display :) James x

  • haha well actually when i first started i could barely do one... but i had a great training partner this past year and an amazing coach that pushed us... now we do 3 sets of 10 on a high bar for a usual workout. But rings are a lot harder!! I think we do something similar, we just go from a hanging position and keep both legs straight, all the way to the bar, then extend upward into a bubka. Its tougher to do it slowly!! We dont go backwards and come back again the way you girls do.

  • I like the "Steven Move!!" in the background. Isn't it just like little kids to be in the way?
