WATERWALL By Ivan Manzoni

The stage is dominated by an imposing metal structure, a possible open
construction yard of a building that has never been terminated. Water slowly begins to flow onto the structure with an ever-increasing bursting force until it transforms into a raging waterfall. The dancers/acrobats appear who, upon witnessing the force of the water, begin to compete with its power, challenging the laws of gravity.

Harnesses, elastic cords and swings expand the dancers' movements until they are pushed to the very borders of acrobatics. The effects of light and shadow shape the flow of the water, changing it from a transparent veil into an almost impenetrable wall moulding it into an unheard-of spectacular image. Together with electronic, hypnotic and hammering music a performance comes to life which marks the exultation of an evocative representation of choreographic engineering.

This is work in progress with an infinite variety of forms. "Waterwall" is a show with a very strong visual impact as well as being an experience which involves and moves the widest range of audiences.
