Edgewater Artists in Motion is a project that installs art pieces in local vacant stores hit by the recession. According to founder Rae Ann Cerle, the empty buildings hurt existing businesses. The installations aim to bring more traffic to the local area and to market the vacant properties for rent, she said. EAIM has displayed artwork in 32 unoccupied storefronts with 67 artists. It has arranged the "Le Gallery Thorndale" exhibit at 1106 W. Thorndale from July 2 to Aug. 28. The project is sponsored by the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and Alderman Harry Osterman.
