cutting arc in panel http://AskWoodMan.com/

In this video show how I created the arc in the panel by bending a thin board and then marking from it. I then use a 14tpi bi-metal jigsaw blade and cut as close to my marked line as possible. Then after the marking the assembly orientation of the panels I rough trim the lower panel. Using a piece of wood with sandpaper taped with double stick tape to it, I shape the top template panel as smoothly as possible.

  • Great video... thats not crazy at all brother, I also use the metal cutting blades on the jigsaw because the wood cutting blades cut so rough on the wood... And Im sure some people will say... ok cut the curve CLOSE to the line and then sand it, but I've found, like you did, that the metal cutting blades work the best for a finer finish with the jigsaw...

  • @THSurvivalGear Those bimetal blades are really amazing. I wish I knew more about the material science of their composition. I use a Milwaukee portaband all the time and those bimetal blades cut through just about anything metal, but they can be folded and snapped with no effort. Some of the packages say 8% cobalt. Super hard but brittle. I like the 14tpi blades as a happy medium. Anyway I am rambling. Thanks for writing and keep in touch Devil Dog.
