The story is all about the pink creature

The pink one is living in a book with other imaginary characters, she is in love with the green person.
She discovered that being in love can be really painful because when you are sad you make your lover sad and by believing that she is the source of her beloved person's sorrow, so she left him and went on a journey to an other town.
An unknown yet familiar voice leading her on her way, she searches for a sign that will tell her what to do because although it's painful to be with the one you love, it even harder to be without him.
Finding out that the sign, the soft blue light came from her own body she understand that she wasn't herself and she discovered herself again and been supported by her other self she understands that not even pain can take her away from her love.
So she travels back to her own town searching between the people and finding him waiting for her, however she doesn't know what to do; in the end she decides to change so she will be able to live with her love without ever leaving him again. She sets free the part of herself that guided her; the other self so she could creates her own path.
This turn point in the plot causing to the two characters to leave the book and turn into real people (a man and a persocom =]) that is the moment of truth because if their love could be strong enough to continue in the real world then it will last for ever.
The pink one manages to separates the other her and sets both of them free for their own ways and life, now the couple can be with each other....forever

And the other creature can now travel to some other town and find her person only for her...

just finished the last ep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!a good shocker ending!!!!!!!!...but it is still my #2.Fruits basket is first ,then chobits ,third ranma1/2 ,and last gatcha gatcha I recomend these titles

Great video for a great anime. Finished the series in 2 days, definitely my favorite anime of all time, it was absolutely beautiful.

This is exactly what I wanted to find for this song: an AMV of the storybook scenes. The first ending credits are very happy-go-lucky and make the "me" character seem like an idle seeker of love. As the series draws on and Chii and Hideki's relationship remains in quetstion, the change to this song evokes a feeling that "me" is growing depressed and a little impatient that she has taken so long to find love.

This was a brilliant idea. I did like that they kept the same ending animation and let the song change cause you to view the "me" character in a different light, but I think something like this should have been used for season two.
