What do you use for the outlines, just a pencil? I wanted to combine watercolour and coloured pencils but I usually used fineliners for my outlines.

@tansheena Yes, I use pencil (usually a Bic mechanical)

What kind of paper did you use? I'm afraid mine will wrinkle since I use cardstock for color pencil drawings

@animehammy101 Watercolour paper. You can draw on it with pencils, and then apply the paint overtop. Use a heavy-weight paper, or a pad of paper that is gummed around the sides, to avoid curling.

@TheBonnieRose
thank you for your informative video of your amazing piece of art. I enjoyed it very much.
Could you tell me what you mean by 'gummed'? Is that something I do? If so how and with what. Or is it something I buy?
Thank you

@spirithelpers I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching! Paper pads/blocks that are not spiral bound are held together with a strip of gum-glue, usually at the top. "Gummed" paper means that there is a gummy-plastic seal around all four corners of the paper block, which keeps the edges of the paper flat, and they will not curl as you add water. To remove the sheet of paper (when you are finished painting) carefully run a blade around the edge, and gently lift the paper way from the block.

@spirithelpers Here is an example image of what the gummed edge of the block looks like (note: this is not my photo; I found it on a keyword search on Google.) painting.about.com/od/watercolourpainting/ss/watercolorpaper_7.htm
