Not to keep going on about this but I am genuinely intrigued...how was she concerned? I just did some research and in an interview she stated (on gay rights) "It's perfectly all right with me. Some of the most gifted people I've ever met or read about are homosexual. How can you knock it?"
No, Lucille deduced this by herself. It would be many years before Bailey would come out. A politically correct person would think, or at least say, that a man could put on the costume and makeup of Diller, Garland, Lee, Streisand, and act like them, yet be perfectly straight. But Ball was never PC. She knew right away, and like any protective mother, wasn't thrilled about it.
I don't know much on this particular topic, but I would expect that Lucille's attitudes were not off the mark for somebody born in semi-rural 1911. She was a highly intelligent woman, and like Garland, was aware of her many gay fans. At the same time, with both women, there was an ambivalence. When Lucy found out about Bailey, the first thing she thought of was "Is he gay?" She was right, but Bailey didn't come out until much much later. Ball had huge problems with Desi Jr's dating also.
@apokryltaros I was ROTFLMAO at the whole scene! This is comedy at its best! Jim has Phyllis down pat!

Assuming you have read this ( Not being sarcastic ) could you tell me her opinion on homosexuality? I'm really interested in the topic.

True, most of the Ball biographies cover this.

I've never heard that before...

Odd as it seems, Jim and Lucie Arnaz were dating at the time, which baffled Lucille Ball, to put it mildly.
