Obama accomplished nothing at Copenhagen. Harper forsaw a big political sideshow and treated Copenhagen like the bullshit climate change circus it is. I'm sure Harper will not shed a tear over Obama's snub, it was a useless meeting that nobody took seriously anyways.

The best way to get "clean coal" or "clean tar sands" is not to throw public money at it, but to sponsor a contest with a 1 million dollar prize funded by people who want it to happen (a tiny percentage of the money currently being thrown at those technologies) and let anyone that thinks they can accomplish it enter the contest. Consequently, it's also the best way to prove almost any technology.
