Great vid. Ever since I heard about Dr Byron Hyde proving the abnormalities in ME sufferers through SPECT scans I've been completely baffled as to why out of the hundreds of ME forum users I don't know any who've ever been given such a scan. It should be the norm, not the exception.

Many Thanks for posting this brilliant film.I believe one of the reasons that these SPECT scans have not been made more widely available is that they have been used so far largely for research and study purposes. Also of course, they would never be advocated in the main because of the influence on Doctors exerted by the psychiatric lobby who would not want the results made public in order to save their inexcusable twisting of the real facts behind this devastating illness..I will continue

@kaazoom because the insurance industry might have to honour claims,

To access such a scan was even then very rare. They were studied for other conditions too for research purposes. The doctor is this video sadly no longer practices in the UK. There are a few out there who have had such a scan.Unfortunately, some members of the psychiatric lobby are so bereft of medical ethics and seemingly humanity to ever acknowledge evidence such as this shown here. Some are obviously practicing discrimination of sick human beings on an unimaginable scale. One day it must stop.

Thankyou for your kind comments. My greatest desire, along with yours and countless others is to have the often devastating facts recognised once and for all.Of course, it is an uphill battle but one that must be eventually won.For example, these very brain scans I now believe are no longer performed. Dr Costa I think it's correct to say no longer practices medicine in the UK..a sad loss, but the evidence he uncovered still remains to be relentlessly pursued, along with other factual findings.
The actual cost of these scans (as if cost should be a consideration by the NHS when so much is at stake) is a fraction I believe to that of an MRI scan. These scans are both important and interesting when read in conjunction with other neurological tests. Marked reduction of cortical perfusion within the brain stem ( and other areas) is common to ME patients..the brain stem controls all autonomic functions..no surprise then that so many poor maligned patients have poor autonomic control.

Hello sly1958. Wow!! Your explanation is so elequently put! I wish I had the ability to have said something like this. I sincerely believe there's a conspiracy and we need detailed descriptions such as yours to get our message across. It's sometimes difficult to have genuine faith in some obscure conspiracy theories but the arrogant psychiatrists and medical sympathisers simply cannnot come to terms with being proved wrong about this! Many thanks for your support and comment! Liz. :o)

Thanks for sharing this video. The question is - why aren't SPECT scans used as a matter of course? It seems it is much easy, and cheaper, to blame the patient than to to do appropriate tests.

Unfortunately, we have to wait in line for our treatment behind people who make themselves ill, 'throwing caution to the wind,' through excessive consumption of damaging consumables, of which there are many: we are a very low priority. Also, the medical community don't like being proved wrong.

I spot a Ford Sierra, I'm guessing this is late 1980's. SPECT with tracer, Vs CBT & Graded Exercise from NICE on the NHS..20 years later.
Well Psychiatry got what it wanted - cover up.
I wonder if an ME patient could get this test done now in England? You'd probably need to be Royalty. SPECT and XENON spect imaging is very rare.
I would rate this as probably one of the best video's on ME I have ever seen.
Thank you for sharing this and educating people. It really hits home hard.

Thanks for kind comments
luminescentfeeling. Dr. Macintire was medical adviser for AFME, having half-hour slot on a topical issues prog: "frontline". I've got more from 80's telly(ex-VHS)about M.E. including late Lyn Gilderdale when younger. An upload would serve as a memorial. As guessed, it was late 80's. I've loads more 'archived' stuff that I will get around to uploading eventually. The one here was my first attempt and I need to learn a lot more about how to use Microsoft Movie Maker.
