DIY: Short Shifter Install

Learn how to install a short shifter in this video. Even though I did this on my 240sx, its pretty much the same principle for most rear wheel drive cars.

A short throw shifter gives you less space between shifts, which means quicker shifts. Its an inexpensive mod that will give your car a whole new feel.

I used an ISIS shifter from Enjukuracing.com

Should the original shifter by in neutral or in gear before taking it out? Or does it not matter? Thanks for the vid

for my 240sx, there is old gasket sealer .. which is a bitch to take off. it does not easily comes off like yours does

@caozsouls I think I took my stock shifter out once before when I was doing the manual swap. Yours was probably caked on there from the factory haha

@Rainesblue Actually it was $100. And no cutting the shift arm shorter will not give you the same results. That will actually make it harder to shift. Short throw shifters move the pivot point of the shifter up higher so that the "throw" between gears is shorter. The actual shifter itself is the same exact length

wow. Your cars' interior is easy to take apart. My car is like a jigsaw puzzle of bolts and screws, but i guess that's because yours is Jap, whearas mine is just unnecessarily complicated.
