what kind of sticks are you using?

I came to check out the snare sound, I have a late 60s acrolite comming from ebay.
After finding this - If I were you mate, I'd watch this video of yourself VERY carefully. You could teach yourself a lot after watching this! Pay close attention to your grip and play with your wrists a little more - loosen those arms. But watch how you actually don't hit the snare centre when you break into the beat. Watch yourself from this angle some more, do some more recordings and you will improve

at least you didn't put like 3 moongels on it or like load it up with tape. I hate when people do that.

Gotta let that sucker sing! One ply heads bring out the life in an Acrolite and shows it's character. :)

@SummerConspiracy when i bought the drum it had an evans g1 head on it somehow a pole fell on it and made hole through the batter head from when my dad was working on the basement so i replaced it with the evans hd head now i'm starting to wish i had another evans g1 batter head on top

I have a Ludwig acrolite snare I have had it since 1988. I used it in concert band in high school. Now it is in my drum set I wore out the original stand and now use a DW 9000 series. I still carry it in a UFO case.

@l92375 Thats awesome I thought about getting a pork pie brass patina snare but then I found this beauty at musicgoround for $95 I think I really love the sound of the acrolites I'm starting to regret putting the evans hd head on it though =P
