Piece for Solo Flute is the fifth track of the album Toward the Within.
Originally released in 1994, Toward The Within was an audio document of the band's 1993 sell-out world tour and is the only official Dead Can Dance live album. Recorded at the Mayfair Theater in Santa Monica before the eathquake that caused its definitive end, CA, in front of an invited audience at the conclusion of the tour, the shows were also filmed with the intent of releasing a long form concert film. Includes twelve previously unrecorded Dead Can Dance tracks as well as material from their six previous studio albums.

This album was remastered by MFSL (Mobile Fidelity Sound Laboratory), one of the most respected audiophile labels in the U.S.A. They are in the hybrid stereo SACD format and are packaged in Japanese paper sleeves which replicate the original U.K. vinyl releases, including replica original inner sleeves and new additional booklets with lyrics, album labels and other images.

  • Well that was just beautiful Mr. Allegra. I love DCD so much and you really captured their essence. Job very well done.

  • Almost as a Celtic lullaby. Sitting around a campfire in a cavern, listening as a family member blows sweet melodies for wispy night spirits.

  • ... this is the very best song Dead can Dance had ever play... it appeals to your "inner-me" in a sor of speech of course :)

  • so simple, so beautiful. does somebody know if it is a traditional song or a dead can dance song?thanx

  • so great...seems a pasteur boy is playing in the middle of the mountains...
