I know a lot about VR engines.
But yes now that I think about it he is talking about the R36 engine, not the regular 3.6L engine that comes in the new Passats. Those engines are only 280hp. He talked about a 300hp engine, and that engine only comes in the R36 Passats which aren't available in the US.

@Pendemic no...it's a 3.6L v6 engine which is obviously not as good as the w8...as for the v6's originality i think it's vw's own v6...usually the v's from vw are "vr"s which aren't like normal v's, but a bit awkward alligned...google it on wikipedia it tells you a lot of interesting details...that is if you're curious enough...

gay driving ;D
I should also add, perhaps this isnt obvious to everyone, I turned off the esp drive assist and was fish-tailing on purpose, I managed to keep cars on the road in ak doing just the opposite on black ice that was 14 inches thick. also avoided with some scary fast reflexes broadsiding a bull moose at 60mph and that was when I was only 19.

I've never come accross a W8 before, what's the engine size? BHP? and it looks rear wheel drive.
40 Grand, i take it that's US Dollars?
My Passat TDI Sport looks identical but black, fully leathered and loaded, i payed £7000, 1 previous owner of course.(not that anyone needed to know that but there u go)

8 cylinder I think 4.0L 270bhp, you should google the W8 configuration, its not a V8 but truely a double Vay as they say where it was born. 25mpg, lots of do-dads, only paid $23k US for mine, it was 40 new. VW now has a 6cyl with 300bhp so this one only has nostalgic value, except to the bank :)
