Every special operations unit has, historically, served with each other and every unit is trained for a DIFFERENT TASK. Only an ignoramus like you that has never served in an SOF unit would make the idiotic assumption that one unit it truly "better" than another.

@glovefet Really? Since no one has responed as I can tell I will try to give you a answer. No number on non combat jumps. As long you are fit to fight you can keep jumping.  No age limit, but as you get older, your body cant handle it anymore, grow up time. Now a days, war time vs peace time. You just do your job, if your boss is killed you do his until the boss is replaced, no you dont get his rank either. Any other questions drop a line.

@glovefet it depends, you will make either dozens or in the case of one Ranger MAJ i met, 500+ jumps both HALO and static line. you can serve in an airborne your entire career with no age limit and there is only a slight difference in promotion intervals.

hi there i have no military service to speak of. I have an interest in military history though. Could you tell me how many non operational jumps a paratrooper will make in his career? How long can you remain serving in the airborne as an nco? is there an age limit for jumping? How long would promotion take in peacetime as opposed to wartime? Thanks fellas.
