PORTLAND, Ore. - The city's homeless now have a new place to call home. The new Bud Clark Commons opened Thursday near Union Station. The eight-story building named after Portland's former mayor will house 220 homeless people but it came at a cost - $47 million, of which taxpayers covered $29 million.
Seems like an excellent idea, and it's something surely also cities in the U.S., as well as Canada, ,could do.
