Ramona Bowl, Opening Day 2009 - VNN

The 2009 theatrical season kicked off last Saturday, April 18th, with Guest host, Actress Cloris Leachman. Cloris was on hand signing autographs of her newly released Autobiography, and her smiling presence could be felt all over the amphitheatre. Additional performances of Ramona can be seen on Saturday, April 25th, Sunday, April 26th, and Saturday, May 2nd. Doors open at 1pm; performance curtain is at 4pm.
The Production consists of a cast of more than 400 actors, singers, dancers and horsemen and is based on Helen Hunt Jacksons classic 1884 novel Ramona. Comprised entirely of a volunteer cast, community members of all ages gather each year to turn this historic drama into a reality. Some volunteers have been involved with Ramona for 30, 40 and even 50 years and many local families have participated in the production for three or four generations.
