nicee ive always liked the m3's
why did they never mix m1's with m3's on trains like the LIRR did? were they not compatible on the metro north or did they just chose not to?

Though on LIRR they are both compatible, for some reason on MNR, there are electrical compatibility issues since they both began sharing rails in 1983

Well I am making a note of that switch where that bad joint making all the noise is located. That should be reported, but then again there have been lots of MOW activity at CP 5 and the Harlem as of late.
