Afterhours Bothy Band Tribute, 28 November 2011

Live at the Harcourt Hotel, Monday 28 November 2011. Some far more professional video is on the Dublin Sessions website at http://www.dublinsessions.ie/harcourt22.html but here are the highlights of what I captured on my Nikon P5100 between pints of stout and running out of card space half a dozen times ... Anyway, it was a cracking night! I hopped over from Liverpool, managed to catch the entire set in rehearsal too, and was made very welcome by Mary Cashin, the promoter. There were folks from London (including the entire line up of the band Hungry Grass - good on yer!) and from Switzerland too, and the lovely singer Niamh Parsons bought me a pint! In the audience too I met fiddler Imogen Gunner, and a fair few more musos besides including piper Tyler Duncan and button box player Peter Brown, as well as Peter Grogan, presenter of "It's All In The Song" on Dublin City FM ... All gathered because of a real love of these tunes and songs, and a *huge* shared affection for the Bothy Band.

The musicians were~ Alan Burke, John McSherry, Mike McGoldrick, Cathy Jordan, Michael McCague, Kane O'Rourke, and Christian Vaughan-Spruce.
