...Named after Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home in Kentucky, this is supposed to represent old-school, pre-prohibition Bourbon, .... but it seems like a very modern version to me.

  • Is So-Co a Whiskey? I never really knew what it was.

  • @seroyer2

    it's sweetened bourbon.

  • Hi Ralfy, do you enjoy sitting down to a nice bourbon as much as scotch or is this just to satisfy the masses

  • @ozstriker1984

I still sit down to Bourbons because they are a change of flavour and variety of flavour helps sustain an interest in Spirits. Tequila reviews later this year.

"Advertising" is to satisfy the so-called masses.

  • @ralfystuff chivas regal 12 or knob creek??

  • @manchewl

neither ... Highland Park 12yo (same price, better value)

  • I like your accent

  • @unclebud99 Trying the different barrels of the EV can be fun!

  • To me, Knob Creek is the Coca Cola of whiskey. It's designed to appeal to the sweet tooth American palate. If you want something a bit less skewed for a good price, Four Roses can be a nice example, especially the single barrel version. If you ever have the privilege of trying old Stitzel-Weller whiskeys such as the OLD (Louisville, not Frankfort) Centennial 10 year, you will find a much less cloying liquid with nice spice and a long finish. I know that you can't find that stuff anymore.

  • @gephross100 I'm not Ralfy, but I'd highly recommend Evan Williams Single Barrel or Elijah Craig.

  • so you don't recommend knob creek? this is one of my favorites to stock and drink neat, what would you recommend in the price range or below for something to drink neat?

  • @yeahitsk I think woodford reserve is the best burboun i've had. Bit hard to get here though

  • @seroyer2 From what I know its either a Bourbon liqueur or a bourbon flavored liqueur.

  • @ralfystuff Well thanks now I know.
