A rare clip of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain singing in the Panty Smile sanitary towel advertisement. Possibly the only TV commercial to feature the musical talents of Nirvana.
No not really, this is actually taken from "The Day Today", written by British comedy god, boundary smasher and my personal Idol, Chris Morris.
Chris is probably most famous for 'THAT' paedophile episode of Brass Eye, which was littered with Irony (I got it aged 12 for 'effs sake!) and Chris' trademark border-line-walking humour.

EDIT : THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF COMMENTS BY NIRVANA "FANS"... CLEARLY PRE-PUBESCENT IDIOTS WITH NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT KURT STOOD FOR... THESE COMMENTS HAVE BEEN SAVED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU!!!

"Anyone detracting from this video just doesn't understand... The point is that Nirvana were massively anti-establishment, and it would be absurd to think they'd do a song specifically for an advert; hense, the comedy. Morris and Cobain share a lot in terms of political outlook, so anyone who bigs up Nirvana but slams this video clearly only likes Nirvana for the 'scene' rather than having analysed the music and lyrics intelligently. All the angry fans need to find a brain."

"wow SpamBanjo was probably just curios to find out who was really a fan and got the video, or (who) hated the video and tried to 'defend' nirvanas honor. in other words whoever gets the humor of the video and reaizes its funny cause nirvana wouldnt ever do this is an actual fan of nirvanas music. whoever tries to be a hero to nirvana just likes them for being 'punks' "

"Now go read a Nirvana book, or an album cover... or literally ANYTHING ever written about Kurt's political stance... you might actually understand this video."

For more on Chris Morris, head over to google and search for "Brass Eye", "Big Train", "The Day Today", "Jam", "Jaaaaam" and "Nathan Barley"
You may also wan't to search for "The I.T. Croud". It's Chris' most recent work, but I'm not a fan of it myself and I feel it does not reflect any of Chris' other work. "Big Train" and "Jam/Jaaaaam" are for pure surrealists ONLY!
Is this a tranny show???Also definatley not really Nirvana.

I'd already been a Nirvana for 2 years when I saw the original Day Today episode with this parody and I along with all my other friends and Nirvana fans thought it was hilarious. We would often fall out of the pub at closing time and sing Panty Smile until we either puked or got told to shut up. I bet bottom dollar that all the negative comments here are from divs that weren't even born around this time.
Both Morris and Cobain are/were geniuses.

@1cromsbeard Thanks for this one! It really makes a change to get an educated comment.
It still amazes me how many wanabe teenage fanboys think they are doing Kurt some kind of righteous justice by defending his memory from this parody. Any real fan of Nirvana can instantly recognise the comedy as this video plays on the absurdity of Nirvana doing any kind of advert. It pays a satirical compliment to Kurt and is, as it should be, treasured by real fans like yourself. Genius in it's purest form.
