  • @Salvus967 They did make it back to Boston however, thanks to the timely arrival of re-enforcements. The experience would have been similar to that felt by the American soldiers during the Mogadishu crisis with the downed Black Hawks. The citizens of the 13 colonies were not, however, uncivilized animals like the Somalis were (infact people living in the 13 colonies were considered fellow Englishman for the most part. But the situations WERE similar.

  • @Hewalog Actually, the march back to Boston would have been an exhausting and terrifying experience for the British soldiers, as the entire countryside rose up against them. So it's rather disrespectful to dismiss them as simple cowards. They were fighting for thier very lives the whole way back, some locals felt the brunt of thier desperation aswell, as terrified and enraged Redcoats stormed some of the houses closest to the road where sniper fire was coming from.

  • mate u were really brave to be frontline journalist back in those days

  • I like how the English are in cover behind the stone wall, looks great, also the setting is just superb for this "battle". Autumn leaves (or Fall, as they would say in America) and lots of smoke from the rifles, a bit foggy, very nice atmosphere indeed must have been a blast being there.

  • C'mon you reds!!!!!!! Look pretty well fed for the dregs of England! Make no mistake people, they had to scrape the bottom of the barrell for recruits to fight in America! Read Mark urban's 'Fusiliers' for a British perspective of the AWI. Superb book!!!!! Gareth Ishmael BA War Studies: King's College London 1996-99, and damned proud of it too!!!!!!

  • @Redcoat66 why did i say clausewitz your right he was kicked out of the prussian army and washington braught him to valley forge to train the guys and he wrote our military doctrine after

  • @libertarian93

I think you mean Von Steuben! Von Clausewits wrote Vom Krieg (On War) and was captured by Napoleons forces. I believe the story goes that Washington caught Von Steuben bumming some of the American soldiers and then bummed him in turn! Von Steuben was 'bent for the rent' all through the revolutionary War. I may be wrong.

  • @Hewalog he is kindof right they beat us at lexington but then we started picking them off one by one on battle road until charlseton where westopped them at the bridge and then had them running until boston where they beat us at bunker hill then they had to evacuate becouse they were outnumbered.

  • @zama202bc i beleive your right but did you know that at valley forge washington hired the fired general carl von clausewitz, he was germanies greatest general at the time but was fired for being gay, and washington hired him to train the soldiers. he is one of the main reasons of why we won the war and he wrote americas military syllabus
