Envy as a coping strategy sounds pathological. I don't really see how the enneagram is a system that has a universally true foundation. It seems overly simplified.

Helen is correct and Riso-Hudson wrong on Elvis Presley's personality type. RH mistakenly state 3w2. Helen is correct that Elvis is 2w3. When you see Elvis talk in interviews and during his shows he doesn't have the polish and "wheeler-dealer" typically seen in 3s. Additionally, listen to the song "Teddy Bear" by Elvis. And, to top it off Elvis really let himself go later in his career, (very unlike a 3).

I think the interviewer was correct in asserting that the (strongest) 'glitch' in the subtype area would determine the dominant subtype. Helen seemed to shoot that down though, perhaps incorrectly.
