I play wide receiver at the university of utah. I have a question for you, what do you recommend to increase my speed and flexibility on the field without decreasing my strength
@MrBrooksU - Sir I'm obligated to tell, since you play for the University of Utah, you should talk to your coach FIRST - Coach Kyle Whittingham about training concerns. Snatch pull jumps & Prowler Interval Training is a good place start. Remember (Force = Mass x Acceleration) ... Therefore, if you "speed" train, you won't decrease your strength like you calm in your comment but in fact improve it.
@tlefebre It really all depends on your sport. I NEVER make generalized statements that X,Y & Z are the best exercises to do. This is because EVERY SPORT requires different muscle activtation and response/stimulus training. Is there a particular sport you're interested in?
@tlefebre I use to be a competitive boxer for boxing Ontario. I also played hockey, soccer, and track growing up. Since then I have become a Strength & Conditioning coach representing all facets of sports - particularly strength sports. I have extensive learning from both in and out of school. I am in the Kinesiology program at the University of Toronto and hold numerous certifications. If you have any questions regarding training or performance for ANY sport please feel free to reply
