  • I work at a boarding Kennel and I am currently working on a megaesphogus awareness video and was wondering if you would mind if I used a short clip of Stanley getting in the chair in my video. Please let me know!

  • @bearsbeetsBgalactica Certainly, you may use a clip. Tom tomcc@telus.net

  • @bearsbeetsBgalactica Hi just wondering when the video is done, If it is web based could you send me the link and if it is a hard copy could I puchase a copy. Thanks Tom tomcc@telus.net

  • Well, Stanley no longer gets in his chair. I feed him 4 times a day and do so with him sitting. He does a lot of coughing nup and is not very active anymore. His hiips do bother him quite a bit and sometimes does not even want to eat sitting,He spends a lot oftime lying on the lawn - wants to go out there most of his day. He is on meds for pain and still seems to enjoy life so we will hang in there although it limits what wwe can do as he no longer wants to get in the car.

  • So cute! My dog Claire is also a yellow lab and is 8 years old and she was just disgnosed with Mysasthenia being the cause of her megaesophagus. My step dad is going to build her a Bailey chair sometime this weekend. Stanley looks pretty happy with his chair and seems to be excited to eat! I love his bib too, so cute. Thanks for posting this video, I was really worried about Claire and this made me feel a lot better. Hope he stays healthy and happy!

  • @k1leyy Hi I tried replying a long time go but must have been doing something incorrectly, so, i will try again. You can have a look at my reply to lovefish28. All I can add is how sad I feel as I realize he may not make it much longer. Tom

  • Part 3 We were with him when he drifted off into his last sleep. He and I were constant companions for six years as well as knowing him when our son had him. I do miss him most terribly and writing this has brought tears to my eyes. We are leaving the video on for awhile in hopes it will help someone who has a dog with megaesophagus. Tom tomcc@telus.net

  • Part 2 On the eighth I had a bit of a time getting him up to go for a pee and when he did go he lay down and I had a bit of a time getting him back in the house where he lay by my easy chair when it was time to go. When we got to the vet he went around and got up on the scale [expecting a treat, I expect ]. He was always happy to go to the vet which was a good thing as he was there fairly often.

  • Part 1 Finally, I think I can finally do this. Sadly, we lost our beloved Stanley on Sept. 08. We had known for some time that his time was nearly up. He spent a lot of time this past summer just lying about a lot of it on our lawn. The day before it became abundantly clear as he did not want to get up and for some time he had not been fussy about going for his walk.

  • @bellat1999 Is Stanley still kickin' around?

  • Hope your dog is well, your comments are sad
